English III is a year-long, integrated language arts course that will combine literature, composition, grammar, speaking, and listening skills. The literary focus will be on American literature, considering its historical and philosophical contexts. The composition element will have research skills and practices at its core, and students will have the opportunity to complete two short research papers on a variety of subjects. This course should provide the student with the ground work necessary to succeed in senior-level and also college-level English classes.
